I found a calling in 2010. I was still in uniform, US Army, in charge of a large law enforcement operations with various high risk aspects. Besides the domestic violence, drug smuggling, human trafficking, and other critical incidents...it was the loss of life to suicide that was most impactful to my Soldiers, First Responders, and Chaplain staff. Additionally, It was getting to me too. I gained assistance from other servants, together we created a Suicide Response Team. It was working, not without trials and failures, but we started to see a decrease in Suicidal Behavior. Soldiers, Family Members, and all walks of life were reaching out, and my Soldiers were lending a hand. Know this, that is a stress and experience no one should have to witness, Suicide is 100% preventable, and I am on a mission to prove it.
I was reared in a Christian home. My father was a WWII Hero as a survivor of the Battle of Midway when the USS Yorktown was torpedoed and sank. He later became the first active duty Navy Assembly of God chaplain in history. This is my background.
I was saved at 5 years old in the small Pentecostal church my parents built in El Cajon, California. I received the baptism with the Holy Spirit under my father's ministry at First Assembly of God in Claremont, California at 9 years old. I remained true to Christ all my life.
During my Sophomore year in high school I became the leader of the Chrisian prayer meeting on campus at Mountain View High School in Mountain View, California. I was a three year graduate and went to Southern California College (SCC) which was the Assembly of God college in Costa Mesa, California. While there, during my senior year, I dramatically increased my time in prayer and Bible reading daily and an ever increasing line of communication opened between God and me through which I began to receive more power in my spirit from God.
Answers to prayer began to increase demonstrably and leadings by the Holy Spirit became more pronounced. Operations in the gifts of the Spirit increased.
I graduated from SCC in 1979 with a BA in Biblical Studies. That summer I was a missionary intern to Mexico and became more culturally enriched as I gave of myself to serve God through service in orphanages and churches in Mexico.
I enrolled at Fuller Theological Seminary and graduated in 1983 with an MDIV degree. In 1986 I became an Air Force chaplain with the Pentecostal Church of God. In 1998 I transferred to the Army. I became a Major after working my way up the ranks, and had many wonderful assignment during which I led many military personnel to Christ and into the baptism with the Holy Spirit.
I retired in 2009 with many accolades and am involved in evangelistic work, Bible translation work, hymn writing, song writing, writing poetry, writing articles and books.
I continue to serve Christ and am about to plant a church in Coffeyville, Kansas.
